We're sending off our dear friends Annie & Steve to the cornfields of Iowa...
Steve is starting medical school, to be a doctor of osteopathy... thankfully only a few hours away! That is the silver lining we have found in the sadness of saying goodbye to them, that when need be, we can whisk away a few hours to see them!
Annie & Steve are not only wonderful people individually - they bring so much to our group as a couple. We enjoy their company together and apart. Jared can talk with Steve about sports, they go camping with the guys, and Annie and I bonded together over their madness. :) No, Annie has been a wonderful friend since junior high, through our awkward stages and serious conversations on paddleboats, and I'll really miss her.
We rallied all the troops for a final hurrah to wish them on their way. Now, it's a pretty frequent occasion that we all get together, but this time with had the WHOLE group, and although we didn't necessarily talk about it being a going away party that much, we did our normal thing, and I think it was in the back of all our heads how much it meant to us.
We played our classic games, and it wouldn't have been a party if Nick hadn't figured out some new and genius way to cook up a spreadsheet for our scores. This time, he carted his own seperate computer monitor to our house... seriously though, this was the epitome of all his spreadsheet works... might be hard to go back now when we had such easy viewing!
So Annie & Steve... we will miss you guys dearly, and very often. Our get togethers will not be the same without you around.
Nor will our "blue steel" faces...
Bottom line, we LOVE you, we are PRAYING for you individually and for your marriage in this new experience. Annie, we will miss your passion for the "unique" in our group, your "fun facts," and your ever present laugh... Steve, we will miss your sports brain (namely your ability to list more than 200 NBA players), your warm hugs, and your caring personality, and SO much more. Thank you both for your friendship!! I know I can speak for everyone in that we love you and we will miss you! For awhile at least... until you move back home again. :)
So happy when we're all together. Be blessed you guys!
